Environmental Planning

The Southwest Michigan Planning Commission provides information, tools and assistance to help communities make land use decisions that reflect natural resource values.  Southwest Michigan is blessed with many lakes, rivers, wetlands, forests, dunes, farmlands/orchards and wildlife that deserve consideration when planning for growth and development.  There are many opportunities to capitalize on these natural resources to ensure that the high quality of life we enjoy in southwest Michigan continues to attract residents, businesses and tourists.
