SW MI Non-Motorized Map and Plan
Southwest Michigan Road and Trail Bicycle Guide
MDOT is working to create better, safer roadways for all users by providing a variety of services and information supporting recreational cycling and bicycle commuting.
Road and trail bike maps are available and bicyclists are urged to prepare their own assessment of traffic, roads, and trails, and plan routes appropriate to their riding skills. For more information from MDOT click here.
Bike maps can be ordered directly from MDOT's Website by clicking here

What is a Non-Motorized Plan?
The purpose of a non-motorized transportation plan varies depending on the scope of the study area. Non-motorized transportation plans seek to identify non-motorized routes for people to use as an alternative to traditional transportation methods such as driving a car. Non-motorized routes allow people to get out of their car and bike or walk to jobs, businesses, and community events.
SWMPC is currently updating the Southwest Michigan Non-Motorized Transportation Plan for Berrien, Branch, Calhoun, Cass, Kalamazoo, St. Joseph and Van Buren Counties. This will be an update to the 2011 Non-Motorized Transportation Plan for MDOT's Southwest Region (Allegan, Barry, Berrien, Branch, Calhoun, Cass, Kalamazoo, St. Joseph and Van Buren Counties).
