Kim has been with SWMPC since August of 2004. She is a dynamic leader and presenter, driven by insight, passion and experience. With the ability to bring together a diverse group of stakeholders to build understanding and consensus in complex subject areas, Kim plays an integral role in the management of SWMPC urban and rural federal transportation programs within the region. She works with the membership of the region’s two Metropolitan Planning Organizations (NATS MPO and TwinCATS MPO) and is responsible for meeting all MPO-related requirements, including preparation of the Long Range Transportation Plans, Transportation Improvement Plans, the Unified Planning Work Programs, as well management of the Rural Task Force Transportation Program and Congestion Mitigation Air Quality program.

Critical thinking, data analysis and creative problem solving that result in local and regional initiatives that have state and federal funding participation are at the core of Kim’s many successful ventures at the SWMPC, including development of the regional Southwest Michigan Mobility Management program, management of community processes for transit planning efforts in Berrien, Cass and Van Buren Counties, and leading numerous assessments and feasibility studies that focus on identifying partners and funding opportunities to expand transportation options at the local and regional levels.
