Niles Charter Township is currently developing their Community Parks, Recreation, Open Space, and Greenway Plan.  As part of this process, the public was invited to a "Public Visioning Session" March 19 at the Niles Township Hall.  A number of great ideas were discussed and those in attendance learned a lot about the township parks and the proposed collaborative trail effort connecting trails running through the City of Niles, Niles Township, and St. Joseph County, Indiana.  The evening was also the kick-off event for the survey designed to understand public opinion, usage of the parks, and to assist the steering committee with developing goals and a five-year action plan.

Beginning June 10, 2008 the public is invited to review the Draft five-year plan and submit written comments (prior to July 10) to:
