TIP Application & Amendment Form

The TIP project application form is to be used for any new projects being added to the Transportation Improvement Program.  The application must be submitted to Transportation Planner Trevor Thomas by email at thomast@swmpc.org or by fax at (269)925-0288 at least 10 days prior to the NATS meeting at which the project is being proposed (see the schedule below for submission dates).

Information needed for application:

• PASER ratings are available here.
• Traffic counts are available here. (If there is no traffic count for a needed location, please send a request for a traffic count to Douglasl@swmpc.org).
• The current TIP is available on the Transportation Documents page.

The TIP Amendment Application is to be used when you want to amend or delete a project in the Transportation Improvement Program.  Use the drop down menus to fill in the fields.  For the fields regarding project limits, length, and description, you will be able to type your information.  Once the form is filled out, you can save a copy to your files. 

The application must be submitted to Transportation Planner Trevor Thomas by email at thomast@swmpc.org or by fax at (269)925-0288 at least 10 days prior to the NATS meeting at which the project is being proposed.

This guidance will give you an explanation of such things as the Work Type Codes, Funding Codes, etc.... 

Effective October 1, 2010 -- MDOT will use a set schedule for processing amendments to the regional TIP and statewide STIP six times per year.

Thus, the schedule for submitting amendment applications to amend the NATS Transportation Improvement Program is as follows:

*NATS approval dates are subject to change, pending the approval of the NATS meeting date calendar for 2011.
