Goal 4 for SMART

Goal 4 - Increase public awareness, understanding and appreciation for the trailways and the benefits of

trailways to their communities and their quality of life

 

Update 9 county map of existing trailways for potential users (HIGH)

 

Assist communities and organizations with marketing and promoting ideas and techniques  (MED)

  • - Promote conservation and recreation development efforts, projects and programs
  • - Create and implement a public information, education and promotional strategy
  • - Promote benefits of trailways and non-motorized transportation options (health, economic, tourism, education, air quality, quality of life, etc.)
  • -Provide education and information to trail adjoining landowners

 

Establish and distribute a code of ethics for trail users (LOW)

 

Publicize trail openings or other trail related events (HIGH)
