Cass County Transit Studies

In 2011, the Cass County Human Services Coordinating Council formed a working group to study the transportation needs in the county.  On February 9, 2011, the Southwest Michigan Planning Commission partnered with the working group to hold a Cass County Mobility Forum.  40 attendees, representing human service providers and transportation providers, worked through scenarios of individuals navigating the county and discussed the gaps in transportation needs.

The results of the forum will be used to create a Cass County Transit - Human Service Coordination Study.  Having such a study will allow the county to apply for projects to use federal transit funding, such as the Job Access and Reverse Commute Program and the New Freedom program funds.
